Cefotaxime Sodium & Sulbactam Injection is a combination antibiotic formulation used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections in animals. This injection contains Cefotaxime Sodium, a third-generation cephalosporin, and Sulbactam, a β-lactamase inhibitor, which work synergistically to enhance the efficacy of the antibiotic.

Composition


Cefotaxime Sodium: 1000 mg
Sulbactam: 500 mg


Mechanism of Action



Cefotaxime Sodium:


Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).
Effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Provides bactericidal activity.



Sulbactam:


Irreversibly binds to β-lactamases produced by resistant bacteria.
Protects Cefotaxime from enzymatic degradation, extending its spectrum of activity.
